Connecting PanRadio X to Apple CarPlay is completely plug-and-play:
If a station connects but has no audio output:
PanRadio X lists 45,000+ stations, built from the open Radio Browser directory and updated every day. If your local station or favorite indie channel is missing, or its town, logo or genre is wrong:
Use our Add Your Radio page, or email us at panradiox@pandorax.biz with the station's name, website and stream address (MP3, AAC or HLS). We'll check it and add it so it's available to all listeners.
Tap the Heart icon on any station or player view to add it to your Favorites. In addition, you can create customized lists (e.g. "Morning Commute", "Night Chill", "Workout Rock") from the Lists tab.
Your saved favorites and custom playlists are immediately visible on your Apple CarPlay screen so you can start your favorite music with a single touch without searching.
Radio streams are lightweight compared to video streaming. Most stations stream at 128 kbps, which uses approximately 58 MB per hour of listening. For high-efficiency AAC stations (64–96 kbps), data consumption drops to 28–43 MB per hour.
Because PanRadio X utilizes native Apple AVPlayer hardware acceleration, battery impact is minimal, consuming roughly 3–4% battery per hour of background listening.
PanRadio X features a native real-time ICY metadata parser. When a radio station broadcasts song metadata embedded inside its audio stream chunks, PanRadio X extracts and displays the song title and artist instantly.
However, some broadcasters (especially talk, public news, or low-cost legacy stations) do not transmit metadata packets. In those instances, PanRadio X displays the station's official broadcast name and bitrate.
No personal data is collected or sold. PanRadio X does not require you to create an account, enter an email address, or provide location tracking. All your favorite station lists and preferences remain stored safely and privately on your device.
